Providing proactive, professional and wide-ranging support to people at every level, we ensure that the ICO is well led, well managed and has the people and expertise to meet the challenges of the future.

Our world covers everything from recruitment and selection, talent management and organisational development to equal opportunities, employment legislation and HR best practice. Advising on all HR matters, we support culture change, influence the strategic direction of the ICO and ensure that all HR policies and procedures are applied consistently and fairly. We also identify, meet and re-evaluate training needs to ensure that every single one of our colleagues can progress their career and do their job to the best of their abilities.

What skills do we look for?

We value people with the ability to provide quality advice on a diverse range of HR and Learning and Development activities to meet the needs of different teams and the ICO as a whole. With the flexibility to adapt to changing requirements, you will ideally have a good understanding of diversity, equality of opportunity, employment legislation and HR best practice. Both customer and quality focused, you will be able to support a range of people and deal with sensitive situations in a discreet, diplomatic and professional manner.

Roles in HR

Headed by the Director of Human Resources, who is supported by the Senior HR Manager, our team is based in Wilmslow. The team consists of HR Advisers, HR Officers and HR Assistants. Within HR our Learning and Development Manager also leads a specialist team of Learning and Development Officers and Administrators.
