At the heart of all that we do

Responsible for assessing, advising on and promoting compliance with the Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act, our Caseworkers are at the centre of all our operations.

Our data protection and freedom of information teams help organisations to meet their responsibilities in these areas. Supporting individuals and organisations, they provide specialist advice, answer a diverse range of enquiries and take on cases that can’t be resolved by the Helpline Team. To ensure that we lead by example, our Internal Compliance Team makes sure that we meet our obligations too.

What skills do we look for?

As a Caseworker at the ICO, your judgement and initiative will protect people’s rights and make a difference to thousands of lives. An analytical thinker, you will need good written and verbal communications and the ability to build a rapport with a diverse range of people. If you also have a keen attention to detail and a strong customer focus, our training will provide you with all the knowledge you need to succeed.
