
All organisations need to handle data in accordance with the Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act and Environmental Information Regulations – and we are no exception. In fact, we need to set an example for others in terms of good practice.
This is why our work within the Internal Compliance Team focuses on ensuring that we operate within the guidelines, legislation and codes of practice. We have a wide range of responsibilities from managing requests for information to reviewing our own publication scheme and advising on many aspects of security. We provide training across the ICO to ensure that everyone is up to date with matters relating to internal compliance. And we even review our own notification entry – as all organisations that hold information about individuals must submit one.
Our Internal Compliance Manager is supported by several Assistant Internal Compliance Managers at our Wilmslow office.
